Jimmy Carr – Funny Business – 8th September 2015
Jimmy’s been described as ‘the hardest working man in comedy’.
Which, let’s face facts, is not that impressive.
t’s like being the ‘Tallest Dwarf’ or the ‘Healthiest Glaswegian’. Really not that big a deal.
‘Funny Business’ is Jimmy’s brand new stand up show.
Come for the witty and incisive musings on the human condition; stay for the knob gags.

Sarah Millican Live
In the past when you put Sarah Millican outside, she asked things like: ‘Why? Where is the taxi? Do I need a cardie?’ and said things like: ‘There’ll be wasps. I’ve nothing to sit on. Is that poo? Can we go home?’
But things have changed. Now she has outside slippers. She can tell a chaffinch from a tit (hey). But she still can’t tell if it’s an owl or her husband’s asthma.
Sarah Millican is venturing outside to the Villa Marina Isle of Man – 14th July 2016 – Book Tickets here.

“Right now, the Iranian Djalili is probably one of the most subversive, let alone funniest, comedians around” (Guardian).
“To carve yourself out a career as the thinking person’s Iranian comedian in this political climate takes a fine brain and a masterful way with the audience. There is no question that Omid Djalili possesses both” (Sunday Times).
The Hooded Ram brewery based at the Hills Meadow Industrial Estate in Douglas is the venture of former compliance worker Robert Storey, 34, who lives in Onchan.
The brewery can produce two and a half barrels in a batch – the equivalent of around 700 pints – and could produce two batches each week. So far they have produced 10 or 12 different beers, with the six-per cent IPA proving to be the most popular so far. The beers have been sold in numerous pubs around the island including the Marine and White House in Peel, the Albert and the Outback in Douglas, the Bridge in Laxey and the Mitre and Trafalgar in Ramsey.
A range of ales designed for pub sales will be supplemented by some big bold American style beers which will predominantly be bottled and sold directly through the brewery shop, which will also act as the base for brewery tours and tasting sessions from the bar which is named the ‘Tap Barrrrrrr’. Inspiration for the American style beers has come from ‘Goose Island Brewery’ in Chicago and ‘Dog Fish Head Brewery’ in Delaware. Already in possession of some Scotch and Jim Beam barrels for some winter Stouts and Porters, some fresh oak barrels are being purchased for the spring and summer fruit aged beers.
The brewery shop, located in Hills Meadow, is open Thursday’s and Friday’s (3:00 to 7:00) and Saturdays (12:00 to 6:00). Tours can be arranged by either visiting www.hoodedram.com, emailing email@example.com or calling the brewery on (01624) 612464.

The Fiction section of the Times Sat 11th October began well for the Isle of Man PR. “Taxi to the Isle of Man” it read….
Ultimately it was a review of local resident Chris Ewans Dark Tides novel – but later in the review section it referred to – “The plot takes place during Hop-tu-Naa, the Isle of Man’s disturbing festival.
Perhaps “Disturbing” refers to years gone by, the IOM version of Halloween or Trick or Treat is far less sinister in 2014.

Following the sell out success of his long-awated return to stand up, Alan Davies returns with his highly anticipated follow up show. Little Victories.
Much lauded as resident dunderhead on Qi or the charming but reticent crime solver Jonathan Creek, Davies virtuosic story-telling and whip-smart funny bones combine to make this a show not to be missed.
