A local was held on suspicion of arson over a blaze at the former home of Trevor Baines, police say.

The homes built in 1877 as part of the Douglas horse tramway are now unsafe, the government says.

The Gaiety Theatre, which was designed by Frank Matcham, first opened its doors on 16 July 1900.
